New HDFC Bank credit card rules from August 1, 2024: New charges, late payment fee, bill payment rules, and more
HDFC Bank has made some important changes regarding terms and charges for its credit card customers. These changes are effective from August 1, 2024, as per the HDFC Bank website.

New HDFC Bank credit card fees, charges applicable from August 1, 2024
Rental Transactions:
When using services such as CRED, PayTM, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge, and similar platforms to pay rent, a 1% transaction fee will apply, with a maximum limit of Rs 3000 per transaction.
Fuel Transactions:
For consumer cards, there are no additional fees for fuel transactions under Rs. 15,000. However, for fuel transactions exceeding Rs. 15,000, a 1% fee will be applied to the total amount, capped at Rs 3000 per transaction.
For business cards, there are no extra charges for petrol transactions below Rs. 30,000. However, for transactions exceeding Rs. 30,000, a 1% fee will be applied to the entire amount, with a maximum charge of Rs. 3000 per transaction.
International / Cross Currency Transactions:
For international or cross-currency transactions, a 3.5% markup fee will be applied. However, the markup fee remains at 2% for the Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition), Biz Black Metal Card, Regalia Gold, BizPower, and Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank cards, and at 2.5% for the 6E Rewards Indigo XL card.
Late Payment:
Our late payment fee structure has been revised as follows:

Rewards Redemption towards Statement Credit:
If you redeem your rewards towards statement credit (CashBack), a Rs 50 redemption fee will be charged.
Rewards Redemption charge will not be applicable for Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition), BizBlack Metal,Swiggy HDFC Bank,Flipkart Wholesale.
Finance Charges:
If you choose to pay less than the total amount due on your monthly billing statement, finance charges of 3.75% per month will be applied from the transaction date until the outstanding debt is fully paid. This applies to all monetary and retail transactions. However, for Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition), and Biz Black Metal cards, the finance charge remains at 1.99% per month.
Easy-EMI Processing Fee:
If you use the Easy-EMI option at any online or offline store, an EMI processing fee of up to Rs. 299 will be charged. All fees are subject to GST as per government regulations. The Merchant Category codes are defined by the network (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay, Diners) and not by HDFC Bank. These charges do not apply to Pixel Credit cards. Only the rental transaction charge applies to Commercial Credit Cards.
